1. Why did you name your work BexterDesigns?

I named my business BexterDesigns because Bexter was my nickname in college.  I strive to develop designs for my work that are both beautiful and functional, and have the subtitle "Charity Creations: Fiber Art for Hope" as I donate a portion of the proceeds from all sales to charities such as the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, the American Cancer Society, and Room to Read, which promotes girls' education around the world.

2. What is the main concept/theme of your work?

Much of what I put for #1 can go here, but I love working with luxury yarns, as well as functional ones, to create beautiful things.  I believe a good cable can dress up any knit item, and all fiber art can support a good cause.

3. What would you hope for kira kira life customers when they wear your clothes?

I would hope kira kira customers can find satisfaction and aesthetic beauty in my products when they use them, either in items they wear or use around the home.  Fun colors and designs are a great way to bring happiness to life.

4. What is your favorite quote?

"Well-behaved women seldom make history" - Laurel Thatcher Ulrich

"Be kind whenever possible. It is always possible." - the Dalai Lama

5. What do you do when you're feeling low?

When I'm low, I often depend on others to help.  My time with my cat is often excellent therapy- I think he knows when I'm feeling bad, and his purrs rev up even more.  Good friends to vent to help as well.  When by myself, meditation in various forms calms and boosts me: zazen seated, running, or knitting!
