1. Why did you name your work, “Honu Island Melodies for Kids”?
Honu was the very first song I ever composed. I really love saying, hearing, singing that word. The sound makes the child in me very happy :) I used Island melodies for kids because this particular album has a very fun island feel with sweet melodies for the keiki (children).
2. What is the main concept/theme of your work?
The main concept is to create music that is fun, playful, and enhances connection with the natural world. In turn my hope is to inspire children and adults alike to care for and become and stewards of the earth.
3. What is your favorite quote?
I have so many but I always love, " Be the change you wish to see in the world" by Mahatma Gandhi. We must must must embody what we wish the world be.
4. What do you do when you're feeling low?
I love to dance and be immersed in nature. Water is one of the best for me. Ocean, surfing, fresh water.......always purifies and elevates my spirit.
